- FSA Electronic Announcement GENERAL-23-96, Borrower Defense School Notification Process Under the 2016 Regulation (34 C.F.R. 685.222) – ED is sending institutions notice of borrower defense applications received from June 23, 2022, to November 15, 2022. This announcement explains the notification and adjudication process under the 2016 Regulation. See the “Key Takeaways” and “2016 Notification Letter Information” sections for details.
- FSA Electronic Announcement GENERAL-23-100, Update on the Simplified, Streamlined, Redesigned 2024-25 FAFSA (Updated Nov. 27, 2023) – Whenever ED publishes a status update on the redesigned Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form it will add a link to the update in this announcement, so we recommend bookmarking this page. To date, there have been updates as of November 15 and November 27, 2023. This announcement also includes a link to the 2024–25 FAFSA Specifications Guide.
- FSA Electronic Announcement GENERAL-23-110, 2023 Virtual Federal Student Aid Training Conference – On-Demand Access Available Until March 2024 – Recorded sessions from the 2023 Virtual Federal Student Aid Training Conference are available on demand until March 4, 2024. You can access the sessions by logging into the 2023 Virtual FSA Training Conference Event Platform and navigating to the “On-Demand” page from the main menu. If you would like to view the sessions but did not register for the conference, you can register here for access.

Please note these upcoming December reporting deadlines:
- FSA Electronic Announcement CB-23-20, Federal Perkins Loan Program Cash on Hand Update Due 15, 2023 – Institutions that have a Federal Perkins Loan Revolving Fund, including institutions that are in the liquidation process and have yet to receive an official liquidation completion letter from ED, must update Part III, Section A, Line 1.2 to the amount that was on hand as of October 31, 2023. This must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, December 15, 2023.
- FSA Electronic Announcement CB-23-19, FISAP Edit Corrections Due Dec. 15, 2023 – Any changes, corrections, or edits to the Fiscal Operations Report for 2022–23 and the Application to Participate for 2024–25 (FISAP) must be submitted to ED no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, December 15, 2023.
