October 2025 Announcements for Higher Education Institutions
Due to the U.S. government shutdown, there are no new Department of Education announcements this month. For details on how the shutdown is affecting operations across higher education institutions, see our recent email alert.
2025 Compliance Supplement Update
As we previously noted, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget has not issued the 2025 Compliance Supplement. As a result:
- Single audit reports for June 30, 2025, and later year-ends cannot be issued yet.
- Institutions with year-ends on or before May 31 can still issue single audit reports and submit them on the Federal Audit Clearinghouse website, which remains operational during the shutdown.
