IRS Delays Requirement to File Form 1042 Electronically

The IRS has delayed the requirement that IRS Form 1042, Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign Persons, be filed electronically in calendar year 2024. Among the reasons cited is the lack of e-filing service providers.

Form 1042 must be filed on or before March 15 of the calendar year following the year in which the income was paid.
