ED Provides Guidance on Repurposing Previously Spent HEERF Grant Funds

On May 23, 2022, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) issued updated FAQs related to the repurpose of previously spent Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF).

In this update, question #25 indicates that beginning on or after March 15, 2022, institutions may repurpose previously spent HEERF(a)(2) [Assistance Listing Numbers 84.425 J, K, L, or M] grant funds to unobligated (a)(1) [Assistance Listing Number 84.425F] institutional grants to maximize the amount of HEERF grants available for construction, renovation, or real property projects under HEERF (a)(2) when certain conditions are met.
