Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) Filing Date Change
If you are required to file FinCEN Form 114, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), note that the due date has changed from June 30 to April 15 beginning with 2016 calendar year reports. An automatic six-month extension is available without a requirement to request the extension.
This applies to anyone who has signatory authority or ownership over foreign bank or financial accounts with an aggregate value of $10,000 or more on any day of the year. This includes both personal and organizational accounts. Learn more about foreign operations reporting and FBAR filing requirements.
